Bruno has been in charge of Synthelis since the very beginning, while it still was a Business Unit at Floralis, the technology transfer subsidiary at the University Joseph Fourier. When the company was independently launched in 2011, he became its CEO.
Before, Bruno worked for five years as account manager at Floralis, and also at Cisbio Bioassays in the immunoassay department.
Bruno has an M.Sc. in Medical Sciences from the South Alberta Cancer Research Institute (SACRI), Calgary, Canada. He also holds a Masters in Management from Reims Management School (RMS) and AgroParisTech (Masternova), where he focused on innovation in the Life Sciences.
Sandra Cortès, PhD, CSO
Sandra Cortès manages the scientific team, defines and implements the R&D programs and also supervises our client projects. Sandra has extensive experience in protein expression and functionalization, as well as in the design of bio-chips. She holds a PhD in Structural and Functional Biology from Joseph Fourier University. After her studies she was a research associate at the Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) in Pr. James Tabony’s lab, then at the Albert Bonniot Institute (IAB), in the “Analytical Immunology of Chronic Diseases” group, directed by Dr. Patrice Marche. Her last position before joining Synthelis in 2012, was in the Techniques in Medical Engineering and Complexity (TIMC) laboratory, with Pr. Jean-Luc Lenormand.
Paul Bonnabel has a background of senior executive in Pharmaceutical and Healthcare business, with a broad international experience acquired in several General Management positions for the Boehringer Ingelheim Company, in France, Russia, China, and CEE. Back in France since 2012, he is focusing and investing on innovation in healthcare through a Business Angel and Senior Interim Management activity; he has been involved in the field of private hospital (Fontalvie group) and in a strategic mission for one French Regional Government. Paul is graduated in Medicine from Grenoble University, in Business from CPA in Lille (France) and has a degree in Biostatistics (Clinical research and epidemiology),
Safia joined Synthelis as Business Development Manager in July of 2016. She is in charge of the company’s business development strategy and transactions. Safia hold a Master’s degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Orleans University and has worked for 4 years as Research Engineer in the Centre de Biophysique Moléculaire (CBM) in Orleans. She worked on developing a new molecular imaging system for microRNA imaging in a breast cancer model. More recently, Safia obtained a Master’s degree in Sales Marketing Communication and Management from Grenoble University. Before joining Synthelis, she strengthened her capabilities in Life science sales at Smartox Biotechnology as sales representative of the VenomScreen services. Her background in biology and research allows her to understand the needs of the drug discovery process and be able to provide scientists in academia and pharma industry with efficient technologies and services. Hence she is able to adapt the R&D and services of Synthelis to the scientists needs.
